The "BIG LAGOON", in the San Pedro neighborhood (Concepción, Chile) ...

The Big Lagoon's Park (San Pedro de la Paz, Chile) 

It has an area of 1.43 "square kilometers". In it you can see a large number of black-necked swans, coots and other water birds.                  

Located on the shore of one of the 2 lagoons of San Pedro, "Big Lagoon".                      

Beautiful green area and viewpoints contemplate this scene.

In the lagoon you can also do different recreational activities, both for children and adults. 

Canopy and bike rides are some of these.

It's perhaps the most visited place in the "San Pedro de la Paz commune", located within the "Villa San Pedro" sector (hypothetically the communal capital of San Pedro de la Paz because its municipality is located here), and where it characterizes a majority middle-class population.

Here's located the bike path that connects San Pedro with Concepción-City (through the "Llacolén Bridge"), the amphitheater (1 of the cultural icons in Great Concepción Metropolitan), parking lots and it's important to note that it's a public park.

There are public baths but the entrance's canceled by means of people in charge of the sanitary services, these are located at the entrance of the amphitheater.  

To travel by bus to this park, there's the urban route CONCEPCIÓN - SAN PEDRO DE LA PAZ but the only line that reaches the foot of "Big Lagoon" is "San Remo's Buses", and also as its only route.

Value of the bus ticket: CLP $ 500 (Chilean money), also valid discounts for elderly and students (TNE National Student Card).

As this tour starts in the "Los Lirios" - "Puchacay" (Concepción) sector, if you start traveling from the "Municipal Stadium" of Concepción (The "Ester Roa Rebolledo" Stadium) you have a guaranteed seat, and from the center you can get on the bus at the stops on O'Higgins-Street o "Los Carrera Avenue" (in Concepción-City). 

THE MUNICIPAL AMPHITHEATER OF SAN PEDRO DE LA PAZ, as we said, is located within the "Big Lagoon's Park".

It's free, public and open air.

It's a stage paved with a kind of scenic crown made of cement, where the organizers and artists enter when a show takes place.

There's no fixed month for any event, which all depends on some activity suddenly organized by the municipality, however, it's not only the scene of shows convened by the "San Pedro de la Paz's Local Government", any social or cultural organization in particular, you can ask the municipality for permission to hold an event. 

In the place you can see fixed plastic seats and placed in the "stalls" part, and also with a gallery where the cement seats are located in the corner, protected by a small hill with wild trees that protect in from the "Big Lagoon".

And also for a broadcast booth, in case the amphiteather's empty it serves rather as a lookout because it's not a closed place with doors, only that from time to time you see lazy dogs lying on the ground.  

A well-kept place with plants around it, all thanks to the security guards who monitor the place every day.      

Public bathrooms, and an amphitheater surrounded by a privileged natural environment, also reigns acoustic silence in the place because it's isolated from the busiest streets of the San Pedro de la Paz neighborhood.
